Essential Functions

This entry-level position serves as an assistant to provide guidance and support to departmental managers and County employees: interprets and explains County policies and procedures; counsels managers regarding employment actions; ensures compliance with HR policies and regulations; and coordinates work with other HR staff as needed.

Process new hires and employment changes: prepare and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality; receive, review, verify, and process required new hire and employment transaction documentation; manages the I-9 process; conducts audits to maintain accuracy and integrity of the data; enter, modify, and updates employee information in HR systems, to include salary adjustments, promotions, demotions, transfers, location changes, and related compensation actions; works with department managers and department representatives on salary requests; review compensation/salary requests to verify compliance with the Compensation Policy

Administer and process benefits and leave: receive and review benefits and leave forms, requests, and documentation; verify accuracy and completeness of information; enter and update transactions in HR systems; coordinate actions and exceptions with HR managers as required; monitor and track leave and civil service status of employees; generate related reports.
