Seeking a professional Brand Manager to manage audience development as well as business-to-business design-related efforts for both print and digital products.  This role is responsible for the ongoing strategy and development of high impact branding efforts positioning local news products as critical elements of their respective communities. These efforts include working with entire Audience Development and Business-to-Business teams to produce high quality design elements and pieces that can be utilized to effectively grow both print and digital audience as well as revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all creative processes for the audience development team, both for print and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Support company-wide branding and other marketing-related initiatives.
  • Highly visible promoter of the importance of local news and information, including the strategy development and implementation of impactful branding campaigns in an evolving media environment.
  • Coordinate with audience development directors on scheduling deadlines associated creative pieces.
  • Support offline acquisition, digital subscription and retention groups in the use of creative elements that supports highly targeting and consistent messaging with the goal of increasing paid subscriptions and overall audience growth.
  • Collaborate with Division Directors and Regional Audience Directors on developing on any market- specific initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects both inside and outside the scope of the audience development department including business-to-business initiatives.
  • Utilization of best practices and industry trends as well as the identification of emerging technology and design trends.

Requirements

  • Creative problem solver and solution provider.
  • Skilled user of design-related products, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud application as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of design elements that relate to print and digital campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to make quick data-driven decisions.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on publishing design management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems and initiate appropriate solutions.
  • Solid understanding of how data impacts design-related marketing decisions.
  • Working knowledge marketing database products.
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both written and orally.
