St. Luke’s reimburses for RMA/CMA certification fees annually.

Responsible for performing clerical and reception duties, as well as the primary functions of a Medical Assistant. Works to facilitate processes with other departments, personnel, and insurance companies to coordinate patient care. Answers phones, schedules patient appointments, handles pre-certifications and referrals. Maintains a pleasant, efficient, and well-organized working environment. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.

Principle Accountabilities:

Coordinates patient flow by scheduling appointments, checking in patients upon arrival, confirming demographic information and insurance, confirming or obtaining referrals as appropriate, and collecting copays.

Performs office duties to include, but not limited to answering phones and directing phone calls, or taking and relaying messages appropriately.

Prepares patient charts with insurance specific forms, requisitions, and super bills.

Processes and files test results in a timely manner.

Responsible for scheduling patients for tests and procedures, obtaining necessary insurance authorization, and providing patients with instructions.

Responsible for rooming patients, including recording weight and vital signs.

Performs other work duties as assigned.

High school diploma required. RMA, CMA, NCMA, CCMA, ABR-OE, or comparable credential preferred.
